SPECIAL AWARDS AND TRIBUTES

Foundations are strengthened by the selfless efforts of those who serve them. The Cecil Delworth Foundation has been guided by dedicated individuals from the floriculture industry since its inception in 1969. They make the Foundation what it is today – a valuable and influential arm of the industry.

DR. ALLAN CHAN SCHOLARSHIP

The Cecil Delworth Foundation continues to support youth education through the various research projects that use undergraduate and graduate studies, and through the Dr. Allan Chan Scholarship grant. Established within the Foundation under the name of Dr. Alan Chan, $2,000 is available annually to students entering or pursuing graduate studies for a M.Sc. or Ph.D. whose thesis topic is judged to be of a potential benefit to the Canadian floriculture industry. If the grant is not awarded in any three-year period, a $4,000 scholarship may be awarded in the fourth year. After the fourth year, the scholarship will revert back to the $2,000.

CECIL DELWORTH AWARD

The Foundation award is based on the point system and committee decision, with the recipient being an industry leader who has worked for the benefit of the total industry. The recipients have come from every segment of our industry:
